Faculty of Mathematics Discusses Sustainable Development Goals with Focus on Gender Equality

Our main goal is Sustainable   Development. At Karakalpak State University, the Faculty of Mathematics held a special meeting dedicated to the discussion of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Professors and lecturers actively participated in the session, sharing their opinions, reflections, and perspectives on the importance of these goals for society, education, and future generations.
During the meeting, the participants emphasized that the SDGs are not only a global agenda but also a local responsibility. They concluded that step by step, concrete measures should be taken to integrate these goals into academic, research, and community activities.
The Dean of the Faculty, Professor J. Seipullaev, highlighted the significance of this initiative. He stated that “each department of the Faculty should take practical measures related to every single goal from SDG1 to SDG17.” According to him, this approach will help to raise awareness among students, motivate young researchers, and contribute to sustainable development both in the university and in the wider region.
After the meeting at the Faculty of Mathematics of Karakalpak State University, the female members of the faculty and the Women’s Council continued the discussion focusing on the fifth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG5) — achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls.
