An international scientific and practical conference «Problems and Prospects for the Conservation of Biodiversity in Central Asia» was held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The opening ceremony of the Central Asian-German Institute for the Protection of Ecosystems and Biodiversity, an important initiative aimed at preserving nature, ensuring environmental safety, and developing regional scientific cooperation, took place at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The event was attended by renowned scientists, specialists in the field of ecology and biology from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Germany, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, as well as representatives of international organizations. The delegation of Uzbekistan included the Chairman of the Karakalpak Branch of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Academician Akhmed Reymov, and the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of Berdakh Karakalpak State University, Timur Nurimbetov.

Within the framework of the event, an international scientific and practical conference «Problems and Prospects for the Conservation of Biodiversity in Central Asia» was also organized. At the conference, scientists from various countries presented scientific reports on environmental problems, desertification, rational use of water resources, and protection of flora and fauna.

The Chairman of the Karakalpak Branch of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Academician Akhmed Reymov, participated in the conference with his report. In his speech, he spoke in detail about the environmental policy pursued by the government of Uzbekistan, sustainable development programs in the Aral Sea region, and the importance of international cooperation.
