The Presidential Decree «On Measures Aimed at Developing Salt Processing in the Republic of Karakalpakstan» (No. PP-333 dated 03.11.2025) has been adopted.
According to the decision, the «Kungrad Salt Free Zone» industrial zone will be created.
In this industrial zone, investment projects will be implemented on a land plot of 50 hectares in 2025-2026, and in the coming years, depending on the need, the territory of the industrial zone will be expanded to 200 hectares.
Entrepreneurs who have begun implementing investment projects in the industrial zone will be granted the status of a participant of the «Nukus» free economic zone for a period of 5 years.
Creation of favorable conditions for salt processing by building additional infrastructure in 2026, development of investments in the amount of at least 50 million US dollars;
It is planned to attract large investors to the world market and develop new export markets.
Also, a proposal was approved to attract investments totaling 200 million US dollars in 2026-2030.
